MKF Summer Program provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience living outdoors on a farm in the Hawaiian Jungle. Girls learn how to take responsibility and look after themselves, others, animals & land. They benefit from character building through stretching themselves beyond their urban comfort zones and facing their fears.
Our Maui Farm experience is a unique and intimate "family style" once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Our program is best suited for the more adventurous, flexible and independent type of girl. Being a small group gives personal attention to each and every participant. Pitching in is part of farm life and campers have the privilege of being a part of it. Living in nature is incredibly powerful and beautiful but also exposes you to the elements so make sure you can handle the outdoors!
Living with us on our farm for 3 weeks invites everyone into our lives and the daily grind. Every morning begins with feeding of our goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, quails, tilapia, dogs and cats. A morning dip in the natural mikvah and chassidus before davvening starts our day on the right foot. The typical daily activities include collecting eggs, milking the goats, taking the animals out to graze, harvesting fruit and nuts, crafting, painting, planting, clearing cane grass and maintaining our streams.
Judaism doesn't live in a vacuum. Wherever you go in the world you are just as committed and inspired to be a proud, strong Jew. Here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is no exception. The marriage of nature, beauty and a frum lifestyle gives real inspiration for living a well rounded, Jewish life. Deep discussions and Torah lessons from the farm make a lasting impact. As a perk, just living on the farm and interacting with our shabbos guests and the Jewish community on Maui is a boost for Jewish moral on the island and mutually beneficial for all.
We are perched on a macadamia nut farm in Wailuku on the West Maui Mountains. Ancient streams flow down the mountain and surround our property on all sides, creating an “island on an island”. The peaceful sound of flowing water creates an all-encompassing feeling of relaxation and peace. Nestled among massive mango trees, banana groves, avocado and starfruit trees, not to mention coffee bean, the nature is powerful and bountiful.
Being on Maui means that we take the girls
on a handful of trips to see some of the נפלאות הבורא.
These include a waterfall hike, snorkel trip, beach swims
and beautiful nature hikes.
Please note: The focus of our program is the farm,
so if girls are coming just to "see Maui" they will be disappointed.
Living on the farm lends itself to much opportunities for creativity. We do lots of painting (rocks, pallets, cabins, ourselves), dying, weaving, building, art lessons and the like or food creation such as making our own coffee, cocoa, sourdough bread or noni juice from farm to table.
